Bye Bye Halloween

We celebrated Halloween with an annual costume parade at Erik's school/day care and Group Trick-Or-Treating at our friends, Oliver & Sherry's. It was a lot of fun!

COSTUME PARADE TIME
Daddy, Mummy, and Grandma Katy arrived nice and early to reserve top spots. Last year, the parade happened so fast that Daddy & Grandparents (Tom & Katy) missed part of it. This year, the timing was just perfect. We got a chance to chat with other parents as we were waiting for Erik, dressed in his Red Dragon costume.

Erik's class must've just woken up from nap because he was a bit dazed or it was all the parents there that made them wonder "What is going on?" Erik immediately flashed his toddler smile and found Daddy in the sidelines taking video. He then searched the crowd for Mummy and found her also as she was taking lots of photos of him!

Then, it was utmost chaos on the playground. Kids were making a mad dash to the bounce house but Erik had such a hard time. He loooooved his red dragon costume so much but every time Erik would go into the bounce house, he would experience "wardrobe malfunction". Erik's dragon feet straps would come off from his feet and he'd get upset...Or Erik's dragon hat would come off and he'd get upset. As a result, Erik refused to go into the bounce house because he wanted his red dragon more!! HAHA!

Mummy & Daddy weren't quick to think of a family themed costume until day of Halloween. Erik with his red dragon out fit, could have been Mushu from Mulan...Mummy could be Mulan...and Daddy could be Captain Li Shang. That would have been such a cute theme but there wasn't enough time to get the costume going. Next year for sure!!

SIDE NOTE: One of Erik's playground classmate, Kai, was dressed as a Cheeseburger & Fries (aka Happy Meal?). Erik remembered playing the "Hungry Hungry Dragon" last weekend where he cased little Ashley all around the pumpkin carving party since she was dressed as a bag of fries. Erik made a bee line for Kai as well and trying to "pick off" the cheese from the burger! It was quite hilarious and Mummy had to stop it before Erik get too into his role as the "Hungry Hungry Dragon"

GROUP TRICK-or-TREAT

Trick Or Treat, Smell My Feet
Give Me Something Good To Eat

Daddy has taught Erik the above rhyme and he loved chanting it. However, Mummy was really hoping that during the actual trick-or-treat time, Erik would display the well mannered boy that he is. Erik did fabulous!

Erik really got into the whole Trick-Or-Treat outing with all of his buddies. Erik even shared one of his glow sticks with his close friend, Jason (aka DuDu). We got to eat a light dinner of Pizza & Sodas at our friends, Sherry & Oliver. The weather was drizzling off and on but by the time our friends and families were ready, it had stopped raining temporarily!! What great timing!

We went all around the cul-de-sac. One house was extremely scary and all of Erik's friends, mostly 3 years and under got quite scared. For Erik, Mummy held him tight and Daddy led the way to fight off any "monsters" or "ghosts" and when we reached the front door, Erik said his "Trick or Treat" and got THREE whole candy bars! Wow!

Erik's bucket got quite heavy but he still wasn't done trick or treating so he would ask Mummy or Grandma Katy to hold the bucket. Then Erik would ask Daddy for "Elephant Rides" on Daddy's shoulder. In fact, when we asked "Are you ready to go home or do you want more trick-or-treat?" Erik's constant reply was "More Trick or Treat!". So we even went to the next street over this year!! Oh Boy, were we tired afterwards but it was a wonderful evening to say "Bye Bye" to Halloween!
