Bread vs Toast
Recently our breakfast routine has been consisted of Erik eating away his breakfast Lollipop Tree pancakes (fresh made every morning by Grandparents) or Kix or Cheerios plus either organic banana or potato bread lightly toasted. Mummy would then toast a couple of whole wheat bread and spread some organic blueberry jam for herself.
Erik would sing morning songs of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" because Grandpa would cut his toasts into star shapes. Yes, our son is spoiled with lots of love and attention from everybody that surrounds him, even Daddy & Uncle Penjo did not get this type of treatment from Grandpa Tom while growing up! Erik would also do a cheery "Good Morning, Daddy-O" to his Daddy as he come downstairs dressed and ready for work.
Here's a recent morning conversation in Cantonese between Mummy & Son.
Erik eating his breakfast very nicely, with smiles and grins, notices that Mummy is also eating. He says "Mummy eating mum mum"
Mummy confirms "Yes, Mummy eating bread" and signs Bread
Erik then responds "No (PAUSE) Mummy eating toast"
Mummy looked down at her breakfast...yes indeed, she was having toast and her 21-month old son corrected her usage of words. What a mum to do but smile at this cute morning exchange and look forward to many more.
