America's Next Top Baby Model

Well, most of our friends know that Chhimi is a big (...and I do mean BIG) photo hobbyist. Some would even call him a professional since he does shoot wedding pictures on his off time. However, for the most part, he just absolutely love taking photos, studio shots, outdoors, event photography. It's one of his many creative outlet. I do hope that Erik will have some of that creativity in him too!

Anyhow, this Sunday was a baby photo shoot organized by us! Although our goal was to keep our January weekends relatively free, Chhimi's photography interest overcame our goal! We knew a few parents that are photo hobbyists so decided to do an indoor studio shoot, very make shift @ home.

Even though we got home on Saturday very very late after dropping Grandma Katy to the airport, Chhimi and I still found the energy early morning to get our place ready for the photo shoot. We coined it as "America's Next Top BABY Model" LOL! Ingenius, huh? hahahaha!

We had 5 families total that came over and only 1 girl in the bunch! Sigh! It was supposed to be more but we got like 3 cancellations at the last minute. WAH! However, overall, it was a pretty good experience! Chhimi was definitely tired and exhausted but yet feels he has accomplished something! He's been wanting to experiment with his lighting and flashes for a long time, basically all theory and no lab. Now it was his turn to execute the lab portion and it turned out darn good! Family brought over various props such as bathtub, stuffed animals, cute outfits, etc. It turned out to be a great experience for us!

Of course, Erik was overwhelmed by all the things that were happening. He saw his little buddies and friends but then he also saw lots of lights flashing away! Sigh! By the end of the event, he was desperately wanting some space and quietness just with his Mommy and Daddy. So we just cuddled with him and took a nice long nap :o) hee hee

We can't wait to see the pictures! Sorry we couldn't make it. Makena caught a very snotty cold and we didn't want to spread cooties to the beautiful babies :(

Awesome photos as usual. We're also into photography as a hobby and take tons of photos. We used to lug around a backpack each with photo gear but carry less now when the kids join.

I think it's a great hobby that gives us much joy, especially since we're taking so many photos of the kids
