Get Your Lazy Ass of the Couch!
As most of you folks that visit this site know – that Chhimi (yours truly) is far from being fit – I am what you think of when you think Couch Potato. I was never this way growing up so how did I get this way? (That’s a whole different story for another day)
Well ever since I found out that we were going to have Erik (my dearest son) – I have been super excited about doing stuff with him (Man Stuff – stuff that put hairs on your chest) Just wanted to do a lot of guy stuff with him and in general spending a lot of time with him.
(Note: I just wanted to do the stuff that I had wished me and my dad had done a lot more. I am not going Dr. Phil on my dad – he did the best job he could have done with me and my brother and provided for us adequately and send both his son’s to this country and paid for our out of state tuition for many, many years – I think the mentality of raising children from a guy’s perspective has or mine has changed and I want to be hands on with bringing up my son)
So where was I?
While reading one of the many daddy Blogs that I visit – I read an article from Adventure Dad and knowing that I was in the “horrible shape” father stage I have mentally and physically begun to change my approach in life in general and wanting to make good healthy decisions. I really want to be around my son and being there for all his milestones in life – be it his first ride on his first tricked out bicycle or swimming. Just watching his expressions as I took him into the pool for the first time was priceless. Adventure Dad got it right – “my unbelievable cute and handsome son is becoming a positive inspiration in my life – and wanting me to do things that I never wanted to do” and all the nagging from the wife has never accomplished in all these years. So here’s to hoping that I become a somewhat fit Dad who is not huffing and puffing behind his son.
On a side note – as soon as I get down to do the right things I found out that I “broke my ass.” We will know more about it after I get my cat-scan next week. Remember – way back when Chhimi fell of the garbage can – well I think I may have dislocated or fractured my coxic bone/tail bone. More on this as I get more information.
