Battle of The Viruses #2

Well, I am officially down on my health with a diagnosed of viral bronchitis. Been coughing my lungs out every day and night. I'm so upset because I just gotten over a cold a couple weeks back that started on November 1! And in less than 2 weeks I'm down again and this time hacking away and again can't take any medicine and no antibiotics can help since its a viral infection! Darn viruses!!!

Being pregnant does have its disadvantages...one of them is a very weak immune system...which doesn't help when I already had a weak one pre-pregnancy. I have never taken so much sick days from work. This week, the doctor officially banned me from work and ordered me to stay home and rest with absolutely NO talking. She said with luck and proper care I can go back to work by Monday, December 5th! However, the symptoms may last longer than 2 - 4 weeks, especially with me being pregnant. WAH!!

So the saga continues....

Baby Einstein

This weekend - Tabitha and I went window shopping and ended up in the library. We checked some baby books so that I could read to the baby and also ended up checking out some Baby Einstein videos. We are trying to get a lot of Baby Einstein videos in English, Chinese and Hindi. So Daddy took it for a test run – in my point of view – it’s basically a very good amateur home video with some cool music. So good that I practically got knocked out for about 45 minutes that Tabitha took advantage off… see picture below.
Who said pregnant women had no sense of humor – though I wasn’t laughing at that time. So to all you future aunts and uncles –Baby Chhimi – would like Baby Einstein stuff.

Baby Chhimi Is A Boy!

We found out the day before Thanksgiving and were at the Sonogram office for over 1.5 hours long! It was quite exciting...except for the fact that I was dying to go pee with a full bladder!! Baby Chhimi was busily squirming away inside. At first he was shy, didn't want to show us whether he's a boy or a girl. The first technicial measured all the necessities like the Femur bone, head diameter, head circumfrance, and many others.

Then she tried to see if she can peek in between to see the sex but Baby Chhimi kept his legs crossed! He placed his hands over his head as if he was just enjoying the world. Hmmm....Baby Chhimi already has a little humor?! Then he gave Daddy (Big Chhimi) an A-OK sign with his tiny hand. It was soooo adorable.

The first technician couldn't really make a guess so she asked for a more experienced technician to come in. I tried to switch Baby Chhimi's position by turning onto my side. Within 5 seconds of the 2nd technicial seeing the baby through ultrasound, she proclaimed, "It's A Boy!" We had to make sure! So we asked her to triple-check...and at the end...Baby Chhimi is a Boy!! :-)

Now....back to the name game!

5 Days Left....and counting

5 Days left to take off....Nov. 23 is when we will find out whether we're having a boy or girl. Our sonogram :-) So exciting!!! Can't wait to see Baby Chhimi!!

Fast Lil' Heartbeat

The last time we went to the doctor's office, the nurse measured Baby Chhimi's lil' heartbeat. It measured at 152 hpm. Wow! That's fast! Usually baby's beat between 120 - 160! It's just amazing!

Baby Chhimi is now beginning to move and twirl inside mommy's tummy. It feels like a little butterfly fluttering at times but the movements are getting stronger each day. Baby is most active in the morning and afternoon then settles in a bit and picks up the movements again at bed time. We can't wait to find out what we're having next week!!! We're so excited! Boy or Girl, doesn't matter as long as baby is healthy!
